Focusing on the physical appearance in more depth, one could draw the conclusion that this is a young woman. Her clothing, white shirt, pleated, long navy skirt, white socks and trainers could resemble a form of uniform. This is an unusual position and location to wear these clothes: a white shirt and pleated skirt are uncomfortable and would soon become creased. Wearing her shoes creates an unsanitary scene and could spread potentially life threatening bacteria. Her shoes may relate to a sense of danger and time period: was this procedure just done? Is it about to happen? Is she hiding/ might have to leave quickly? This could be a fight or flight response. Is she too unwell/ fatigued to remove them? All serious questions that stress the serious nature of the topic of illegal abortions.

The focus of a young individual shows that this age group is also impacted by prohibition of this procedure. One viewpoint could be that of a young woman fighting the stereotype that a woman's career path is that of bearing children and being a mother, to give up her own life to raise that of just a few cells.
